1st day of school 2007

And so another year starts. I remember when we were kids and the excitement of the first day of school. I remember when we would go down before school started and look at the class lists to see who we knew in our classes. It seems so long ago Now my kids are doing the same thing. Worrying about what friends are in their class and if they are going to be able to do the work of their new grade level. Jake is so worried about multiplication and division.

I remember getting taken to school the first day. My kids are so independent that they wanted to ride the bus. When did that independence happen. It seems just a short time ago they we so dependent upon us for everything.

Their first day went good and they are both excited about school. Although Tim is already worried about junior high, which he will start next year. I sure miss having them at home all the time and being their teacher. I am glad we moved back to this area so they can attend a good school. I hope that they too will create lifelong memories. I hope all of you are doing well.

Summer 2007 Kansas Trip

I think this will be a fun way to keep in touch with all of you.

Isn't Colorado beautiful. This was our first time to travel through Colorado. We usually take the quick way to Kansas through New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma. This was definately a prettier trip.

We just got back from our vacation this summer and I thought it would be neat to let you see some of the pictures. We went to Kansas to a family reunion and on the way there and back we traveled through Colorado. We loved it. The country through the Rockies is absolutely beautiful!! This was on the way. We stopped along the side of the road to see this waterfall. Brad, Me and the boys hiked up to it.

Me hiking up to the waterfall for pictures.

This was on the way home. We stopped at a creek along the side of the road. The water was pretty chilly. But we did get the boys to walk across it and back. We also worked on skipping rocks.

This is a picture of my grandparents and all of the cousins, except one, my cousin Andrew. He is currently stationed overseas and could not make it back.

On the way home we went to Pike's Peak and drove to the summit. We took a few pictures while we were there. It is amazing the changes in vegetation and temperature as you travel up.
